• Due to COVID-19, the Renova Foundation has suspended its field activities indefinitely since 04/08/2020.

• 724 inspections were carried out (accumulated from the beginning of the program up to 02/06/2020), which represent 94% of the total 770 estimated properties. Cause: low mobilization of households in relation to installed capacity. Countermeasure: not applicable. The Renova Foundation has no control over the scheduling of these inspections. Scheduling falls under the responsibility of Caritas.
• 34,558 property registrations were sent to the CIF, referring to campaigns 1, 2 and 3 (accumulated from the beginning of the program up to January/2020), of which 34,073 are already available in the Stakeholder Management System (SGS). These numbers do not include the registrations in Mariana.

As of January 06, 2020, 1,323 interviews were conducted as part of the Registration process in Mariana, surpassing the initial estimated 1,175, corresponding to Phase 1 - application of the registration form.
27,953 impact assessment reports (94%) were finalized for a total of 29,679 families, whose registration was sent to CIF by December 2019. These numbers do not include the registrations in Mariana.
Registration of the people that were not served in Mariana in 2018 was expected to be completed in 2019, but has not been completed. Cause: Low mobilization of families in relation to installed capacity. Countermeasure: Not applicable. The Renova Foundation is not involved in the inspections in Mariana, as they are carried out by the Technical Advisory Body of the Commission of Affected Parties of Mariana. Under reference SEQ19810/2019/GJU, an official letter was sent to the Advisory Office to request the prioritization of the registration of those affected from the Bento Rodrigues and Paracatu de Baixo Resettlements. The Advisory Office responded that the decision does not lie with them, but with the Commission of People Affected by the Fundao Dam (CABF).
The program was not closed in 2019 as planned. Cause: Disagreement between the Renova Foundation and the CIF / CT-OS, as evidenced in Resolutions 251, 277 and 346, due to the need to improve the process. Countermeasure: Improve the process: develop a new survey application questionnaire, develop improvements in the system to support process improvements and train agents.

• As of 11/14/2019, 1,279 interviews were conducted as part of the Registration process in Mariana, surpassing the 1,175 estimated number corresponding to Phase 1 - application of the registration form.
• 681 properties were inspected (88%) of the 770 total estimated properties in Mariana. Cause: low mobilization of households in relation to installed capacity. Countermeasure: Not applicable. The Renova Foundation is not involved in the inspections in Mariana, as they are carried out by the Technical Advisory Body of the Commission of Affected Parties of Mariana.

• In Mariana, 1,246 interviews were conducted as part of the Registration process, surpassing the initial estimated 1,175, corresponding to Phase 1 - application of the registration form, as of 10/30.
• Inspection of 681 of the 770 total estimated properties (88%). The result is below the target for the period due to the low amount of families mobilized in relation to the installed capacity. • Inspection of 631 (82%) of the 770 total estimated properties. The result is below the target for the period due to the low amount of families mobilized in relation to the installed capacity. Note that the mobilization is carried out by the Technical Advisory Body of the Commission of Affected Parties of Mariana.
• In accumulated numbers, as of the month that is under review, 32,294 registrations were sent to the CIF, referring to campaigns 1, 2 and 3. It represents 28,597 registrations of families sent during the mentioned campaigns.
• Contract signed with Synergia to provide services related to operational tasks of the register (checklist, interviews, inspections, reports and portfolios).

• 1046 interviews were conducted as part of the Registration process in Mariana, related to a total of 1,175 estimated cases corresponding to Phase 1 - application of the registration form (the increase of 250 families in relation to the previous month, is due to the appointment of the Technical Advisory Body to identify these new families that are to be served in 2019).
• 615 properties were inspected (80%) of the 770 total estimated properties. The result is below the target for the period due to the low amount of families mobilized in relation to the installed capacity. Note that the inspection is carried out by the Technical Advisory Body of the Commission of Affected Parties of Mariana.
• Accumulated until the month that is under review: 32,203 registrations were sent to the CIF, referring to campaigns 1, 2 and 3.

992 interviews were conducted as part of the Registration process in Mariana, related to a total of 925 estimated cases corresponding to Phase 1 - application of the registration form.
583 properties were inspected, corresponding to 75 percent of the 770 total estimated properties. The result is below the target for the period due to the low amount of families mobilized in relation to the installed capacity. Preparing the planning of the registration of remnant families of Campaigns 1, 2, 3 and the Emergency Campaign (non-localized households and other exceptional cases), taking into account the estimated number of people to be registered and the average productivity of Synergia in the field, with a scheduled completion date of 11/29/2019.
For the month that’s under review, no new files were sent to the CIF. Therefore, the total number of entries sent to the CIF remains 32,078. Of these, 27,424 have been approved by the CIF.

There were 455 property inspections (63%) of the total estimated 770 properties

Phase 1 Registration for Mariana (those listed until 09/30/2018), 890 interviews were conducted of the estimated total of 854, corresponding to phase 1 (application of the registration form). Registration and the application stages (phase 1 and phase 2) are the responsibility of the Technical Advisory Body (Caritas), therefore a completion date has not been defined yet.

Phase 2 Initiation (technical inspection of real estate) in Mariana (Bento Rodrigues) on 07/20/2018 and completion scheduled for 10/31/2018, step necessary to measure the suffered damages.
Completed were 283 surveys of the estimated total of 526 properties, which includes 890 entries from phase 1 (application of registration form), those mapped until 09/30/2018).

Phase 1 Registration for Mariana (those listed until 08/31/2018), 864 interviews were conducted of the estimated total of 854, corresponding to Phase 1 (application of the registration form).
Initiation phase 2 (technical inspection of real estate) in Mariana (Bento Rodrigues) on 07/20/2018 and completion scheduled for 10/31/2018, step necessary to measure the suffered damaged. Conducted were 177 surveys of the estimated total of 526 properties, which include 864 entries from Phase 1 (application of the registration form), those listed until 08/31/2018).
Entries sent to the CIF - Bundle_27 refer to the public of campaign 03, including 3,363 properties, 2,827 families and 9,471 people, totaling 30,787 entries submitted to the CIF related to campaign 03.

Kick-off of phase 2 (technical inspection of real estate) in Mariana (Bento Rodrigues) on 07/20/2018 and completion scheduled for 10/31/2018, step necessary to measure the suffered damaged.

29 inspections took place of the total estimated 500.

Entries sent to the CIF - Bundle_26 refers to the public of campaign 03, with 903 properties, 731 families and 2,064 people, totaling 6,338 entries submitted to the CIF related to campaign 03.

Bundle_25, sent to the CIF, refers to the public of campaign 03, totaling 1,090 properties, 1,002 families and 2,946 people. With this package, the total amount of applications delivered to the CIF has reached 5,071.

During this period, 3,981 new entries were sent to the CIF that are related to Campaign 3, which aims to address the demands of the 11,412 people who applied for registration between April 1, 2017 and January 2, 2018. Those new entries encompassed the demands of 842 families, totaling 2,575 people and 984 properties.

Another activity that resumed on May 19th was the registration of the families from the municipality of Mariana. This initiative covered 776 of the 823 planned registrations, and step 1 (application of the registration form) was completed for 94.5%.

As planned by Caritas, Phase 2 of the process should have started in February, but there is still no new forecast for its resumption. The entity blamed a lack of resources to carry out the step. Faced with this, the Renova Foundation was willing to contribute to the search for solutions, but the proposal wasn’t successful. There was nothing left to do but accept the situation.

Registration Campaign 3, which is in its implementation phase, aims to address the demands of the 11,412 people who signed up for registration in the period from April 1, 2017 to January 2, 2018. In total, 3,360 registrations related to Campaign 3 were sent to the CIF.

The Registration of Families of the Municipality of Mariana is another activity that is underway. Through this activity, 744 of the 823 scheduled interviews were held up to April 30, 2018. This initiative is part of the implementation phase of the registration form, step 1.

During this period, the Technical Advisory Body of the Affected Parties of Mariana - Caritas Brasileira - also presented the new estimate of the total number of households to be registered. The number increased from 595 to 760 and then to 823.

Also, during this period, a new contract was approved with Synergia, responsible for the registration activities.

Furthermore, a professional was hired specialized in information management. She will be responsible for identifying studies on social, cultural, economic and environmental impacts carried out by the Renova Foundation, for further analysis.

Continuation of registration campaign 3, which has the objective of handling 11,412 requests made between April 2017 and January 2018. Until March 28, 2,757 registrations related to Campaign 3 were sent to the CIF.

The registration of the families of Mariana (MG) is in progress. In March, 580 interviews were conducted corresponding to step 1 (application of the registration form). Caritas, technical advisory body of those affected in Mariana, presented a new estimate of the total number of families to be registered in the rural area. From 760, the number went up to about 820.

The expected completion date of this phase was rescheduled from February 28 to April 21, 2018. Among the causes of the delay pointed out by the technical advisory board, responsible for the application of the forms, the following stand out:

· Difficulties in scheduling with families;
· Caritas staff encountered logistical problems, which impacts the start times and duration of the surveys, which took more than a day in some households;
· Technical issues of the registration form revised by the Commission of Affected Parties and Caritas and technical problems in the application.

On February 6, 2018, access to the information system (SGS) was provided to members of the Technical Board of Organization and Health (CTOS) to monitor and follow the progress of the actions for those affected. With the objective of referring to actions of the program and to monitor its activities, the Registration Working Group was inaugurated on February 8th. The same Board was presented with a summary of the impacts in Sooretama (ES) for compliance with Resolution 58/93 of the Interfederative Committee (CIF), which deals with the "New Areas". In Mariana (MG), of the 760 expected registrations up to May 31, 382 were registered by February 28. Lot 21 of the 3rd Registration Campaign was also sent to the CIF for approval.

In January, the registration campaign continued for the requests received between April 2017 and January 2, 2018. As of January 30, 1,588 entries were sent to the CIF.

In Mariana (MG), the form was included to the system and the teams of researchers were trained, guaranteeing all the necessary infrastructure to start the registration process in the municipality in February 2018. The Renova Foundation continues to implement the latest adjustments to the other stages of the registration process.

A table was created containing information on the programs that are being accompanied by the Technical Board of Social Organization and Emergency Aid (CTOS) and it was submitted to the Technical Board, improving the monitoring of the actions in progress. CTOS members will also be granted access to the information system of the Renova Foundation, allowing real-time monitoring.

The final registration campaign began for the requests received between April 2017 and December 31, 2017. In December, of the 2,920 surveys conducted with potential affected parties 1,334 were sent to the Interfederative Committee (CIF). In Mariana (MG), the Commission of Affected Parties forwarded the last recommended adjustments to the Integrated Form that will be used in the municipality. The Renova Foundation is already finalizing the consolidation of these demands.

In October 2017, the second campaign along the Doce River was completed. A total of 4,171 registrations were forwarded to the Interfederative Committee (CIF). 2,035 properties were indexed. Of this total, 1,663 surveys were applied - 383 were forwarded to the CIF. The third and last registration campaign started in November to contemplate the requests registered between April and December 2017.

In Mariana (MG), an important step was made in order to start with the registration of the affected parties. The technical group, formed by the Commission of Affected Parties, Caritas, the Prosecution Service and the Renova Foundation, reached an agreement on the format of the registration form and time frames for those affected living in rural areas.
After validation, the registration process will start. Also forwarded were 742 entries of new properties due to family split ups and properties that were added to the process after closure of the first campaign.

In Mariana (MG), adjustments were made to the Integrated Form to meet the specific details of the impacts occurred and were sent to the Commission of Affected Parties. After validation, the registration process will be initiated.

Also, were sent 742 new property registrations due to families who split up and properties that were added in the process after the first campaign was closed.

During the second campaign, 6,769 properties were indexed in the georeferencing phase. Of this total, 5,613 surveys were conducted, and the forms are in the process of being delivered to the families, whereas 3,319 have already been sent to the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF).

In Mariana (MG), adjustments to the Integrated Form to meet the specificities of the impacts occurred in this town are ongoing. After completion, the registration schedule for the municipality will be defined.

In Espirito Santo, in the municipalities of Serra, Aracruz, Linhares and Sao Mateus, 3,651 cases were registered. In addition to the registrations, in compliance with CIF resolution 58, the participatory socio-spatial assessment was concluded, which will serve as support in qualifying the identified impacts and construction of repair actions.

Continuation of the second campaign along the Doce River. 4,271 properties were indexed in the first stage of the process (georeferencing of the properties). Of this total, 3,810 surveys were applied and the forms are in the process of being delivered to the families. In August, 1,005 registrations of the second Campaign were sent to the Inter-federative Committee (CIF), now totaling 2,194 submitted registrations. In total, up to the end of the month, 18,668 integrated registrations were concluded.

The Renova Foundation, the Commission of Affected Parties, the Technical Advisory Body (Caritas) and the Prosecution Service met to discuss the registration of people and companies affected in Mariana (MG). This working group held fifteen meetings to define the adjustments to the Integrated Form. The objective is to meet the specificities of the impacts that occurred in the town. The changes are being consolidated.

In the new locations in Espirito Santo, 3,556 registrations were recorded in the towns of Serra, Aracruz, Linhares and São Mateus. In addition to the registration, the results of the participatory socio-spatial assessment are being finalized, aimed at qualifying the perceptions of socioeconomic impacts in these communities.

Continuation of the second campaign along the Doce River. 6.199 properties were indexed (first step of the registration process, which consists of the georeferencing of the properties). Of this total, 2,829 surveys were conducted and the forms are being delivered to the families, whereas 1,189 were sent to the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF) on July 11, 2017.

Regarding the new locations in Espirito Santo, 2,827 entries were registered in fifteen new locations within the fishing prohibition area. In nine locations (Campo Grande, Barra Nova Norte, Nativo, Fazenda Pontal, São Miguel, Gameleira, Ferrugem, Rio Preto and Nova Almeida), where registration has not yet begun, other research methodologies were applied aimed at identifying socioeconomic aspects.

Of this total, 1,891 surveys were applied and the forms are in the process of being delivered to the families.

Registration campaign of the priority group, registering 1,735 entries of those who were not located during the first campaign. Of this total, after the evaluation process regarding the eligibility to register and verification of duplicities of/inclusions to already registered families, up to June 14, 1,611 studies were conducted.

The first registration campaign in Barra Longa (MG) was completed on June 6, 2017, resulting in the submission of 159 entries to the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF). Another 381 registrations have already been made and should be forwarded to the CIF in the next sending, totaling 540 entries in Barra Longa.

Regarding the new locations in Espirito Santo, 1,029 entries were registered in nine of them, which are part of the prohibited fishing area. In another ten (Campo Grande, Barra Nova Sul, Barra Nova Norte, Nativo, Fazenda Pontal, São Miguel, Gameleira, Ferrugem, Pontal de Santa Cruz and Nova Almeida), where no requests had been registered yet, other study methodologies are being used to identify socio-economic aspects.

In June, a study on fishing activities was presented to the programs. This document presents the main results of the first campaign of the Integrated Socioeconomic Registration (CI) of families affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam, who declared losses related to fishing activities, and will be used as a basis for reflection and analysis, as well as for structuring the diverse programs that serve this public.

Continuation of the second campaign along the Doce River, which began in April and is expected to the end of October 2017. Up to May 31, 2017, 2,681 properties were indexed (the first stage of the registration process, which consists of the georeferencing of the properties). Of this total, 1,151 surveys were applied and the forms are being delivered to the families.

Furthermore, in this second campaign, the 1,735 requests of those that were not located during the first campaign, are being registered with priority. During these registrations, 188 new properties were added, increasing the number of expected priority registrations to 1,923. Of this total 1,524 surveys were conducted up to May 31. It is expected that the priority campaign ends by June 18.

In these meetings, the adjustments to the Integrated Form are being discussed, focusing on the specificities of the impacts that occurred in Mariana.

In Barra Longa (MG), the first registration campaign is close to completion, and up to May 31, 389 registrations were sent to the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF), of an expected total of 566.

Regarding the 22 new locations in Espirito Santo, 1,029 entries were registered in nine of them, which are part of the prohibited fishing area. In another 10 (Campo Grande, Barra Nova Sul, Barra Nova Norte, Nativo, Fazenda Pontal, São Miguel, Gameleira, Ferrugem, Pontal de Santa Cruz and Nova Almeida), where no requests had been registered yet, it is necessary to conduct qualitative studies to better understand local socio-economic aspects.

In April, a new registration campaign began along the Doce River, scheduled to end in October 2017. So far, 441 entries have been registered.

In Mariana (MG), the discussions on the issues and processes of the registration involving the Commission of Affected Parties, Technical Advisory Body (Caritas) and Prosecution Service, have evolved. In the meetings that were held a work schedule was defined to discuss potential additions to be incorporated to the registration process in the municipality, in addition to the presentation of the Compensation and Indemnity program to those impacted.

Whereas in Barra Longa (MG), to date, 230 entries were sent to the Interfederative Committee (CIF), out of a total of 531.

Regarding the registration process of the 1,735 manifestations in March and categorized in the priority group of the second campaign - that is, those not found in the first phase -, 1,103 surveys were carried out in April. Of the 1,735 manifestations, 90 were ineligible and 171 resulted in the inclusion of new properties in the process, increasing the number of priority registrations to 1,816 in April. It is expected that the current campaign ends by June 18.

In Mariana (MG), a meeting was held with the Commission of Affected Parties, the Technical Advisory Body and the Prosecution Service for presenting the Integrated Register and definition of the work schedule aimed to discuss potential additions to the municipality’s register.

Whereas in Barra Longa (MG) the following activities took place: indexing, appointment scheduling and socioeconomic registrations, survey of damage and submission of completed forms. In total, 230 registrations of the municipality were sent to the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF).

Along the stretch from Rio Doce (MG) to Linhares and Aracruz (ES) actions of communication and social dialogue took place to inform communities about the program. The first registration campaign was completed with 100% of its registrations submitted to CIF. In total, 7,962 registrations were submitted to the committee, of which 7,761 related to the Rio Doce campaign and 201 related to the impacted parties of Barra Longa.

The panorama of others potential applicants for the second campaign is being defined, through analysis and processing of new registration requests, which are received by the customer service channels (0800, contact us and service points). This work will generate the base for the second campaign.

On February 13, 2017, a meeting was held in Mariana (MG) with the Commission of Affected Parties, the Technical Advisory Body and the Prosecution Service to discuss the main points of the technical report submitted by the Commission on the Integrated Registration. Also in this meeting, there was the request for a structured work agenda to technically discuss the methodology to be applied.

Whereas in Barra Longa (MG), Aracruz (ES) and the communities between Rio Doce (MG) and Linhares (ES) the following actions took place: social communication and dialogue for dissemination of information about the program; as well as indexing, appointment scheduling; socioeconomic registration, survey of damage and submission of completed forms.

A meeting was held in Mariana (MG) on January 11, 2017, in which 11 people formally made a request to know more about the registration process for impacted parties. The Public Prosecutor (MP) of the municipality was officially informed about this agenda. On January 13, a meeting was held with the Commission of Affected Parties, the Technical Advisory Body Caritas and the Public Procecutor of Mariana to present the registration.

In Barra Longa (MG), indexing, appointment scheduling and socioeconomic registrations took place, in addition to the survey of damage and the submission of completed forms.

The following actions were held with the residents of Aracruz (ES) and the communities between Rio Doce (MG) and Linhares (ES): social communication and dialogue for dissemination of information about the program; as well as indexing, appointment scheduling; socioeconomic registration, survey of damage and submission of completed forms.

After the meeting held on November 22, 2016, between the Public Prosecutor, the impacted parties of Barra Longa (MG) and representatives of the Renova Foundation, it was decided that the registration process in the municipality might be continued for those wishing to proceed. The following actions were held with the residents of Aracruz (ES) and the communities between Rio Doce (MG) and Linhares (ES): social communication and dialogue; indexing; scheduling; socioeconomic registration and survey of damage.

In November 2016, the following actions were carried out: indexing, scheduling, registration and socioeconomic survey of damage to the residents of Aracruz and the communities between Rio Doce and Linhares, in addition to the analysis and processing of new registration requests. So far, the registration in Mariana and Barra Longa (MG) remains on hold. However, in Barra Longa, after a meeting between the Renova Foundation, the group of impacted and the Public Prosecutor, it was decided that work could be resumed for those who show interest.

In October 2016, actions of communication and social dialogue took place with the residents of Aracruz and the communities of Rio Doce and Linhares. There were also the indexing, scheduling and completion of registration, in addition to the socioeconomic survey of damage. In the same period, the analysis and handling of requests for new registrations took place. On November 1, the Inter-federative Committee approved the extension of the deadline for the registration completion.

During the month of September 2016 actions focused on the communication and social dialogue with the residents of Aracruz and the communities took place. The meetings also covered the registration program, as well as the indexation, the scheduling of the appointment and the socioeconomic registration during the appointment, recording the damage. During the same period the database of emergency registrations of Barra Longa and Rio Doce was analyzed on consistency, and so were the new registration requests.
