Purpose of the meetings is to assess the actions and consolidate the final report

With the end of the rainy season in Espírito Santo and in Minas Gerais, which runs from October to April, the teams of the command centers are coming together in workshops related to their experiences and are consolidating a final report on the activities. The final document will be shared with the Technical Boards of Water Resource Management and Civil Defense groups of the affected towns.

The command centers of the rainy season emergency actions are already in demobilization phase. The monitoring work and further actions included in the Action Plan for the Rainy Season will now each be covered by the repair and recovery programs of reference.

RAINY SEASON IN NUMBERS

In total, 176 people were involved in implementing the Action Plan for the Rainy Season, which enabled a quick response to emergency demands. During this period, 58 incidents were handled at 36 locations. Of this total, 34% took place in December, which coincides with the highest concentration of rainfall.

“The most valuable experience was to organize the actions in a more coordinated and efficient manner. We defined a map with the main triggers and for each of these the parameters and the mitigation actions. This facilitated our work and communication and has prepared us for the next cycle”, says Flávio Thimotio, who worked on the implementation of the plan.
