33 days of music, sports and environmental education in the district of Linhares
The village of Regencia, about 50 km from Linhares (ES), will feature a varied and exciting event program this summer. There are attractions for all ages and they take place on weekends and holidays, starting on December 28th – including New Year’s Eve and the regional Carnival. Altogether, there will be 33 days of events.
The program is organized by the Regencia Representatives Committee, in partnership with the Renova Foundation. Regional and national artists such as Fubica, Jeremiah – winner of The Voice Kids Brazil – and the Chimarruts band will split between the main stage, the beach, and itinerant performances. There will also be a cultural presentation with the traditional taking down of the Saint Benedict Flagpole.
Rafaela Cavalcanti, analyst at the Renova Foundation’s Program Supporting Tourism, Culture, Sport and Recreation, draws attention to the importance of structuring incentive projects for such activities in the communities impacted by the Fundao dam collapse. “Diversified programming contributes to the promotion of cultural integration, tourism and stimulus of the local economy,” she says.
The Renova Foundation will have a tent at the event venue, where participants will be able to participate in workshops (children and adults), receive health tips and learn a little more about the ongoing repair actions throughout the Doce River Basin.
The program, completely free, runs until February 25, 2020, and will also include sport activities, such as aerobics and soccer tournament, and environmental education, with the release of turtles by the Tamar Project and the Clean Beach campaign.
