The objective is to obtain data that shows the current production, losses and caused impacts

In the coming weeks, the work of the sand fishermen in the Doce River region will be accompanied by specialists. The objective is to obtain data that shows the current production, losses and caused impacts. Based on this analysis, it will be possible to compensate the sand fishermen, in a fair and transparent way.

“The difficulty of extracting the sand was an issue raised by the sand fishermen with the Foundation, in conversations with the group. Our concern is to establish a final indemnity, which is fair to all those impacted. The assisted operation will give us the necessary data and information”, explains Patricia Guimarães, supervisor of the Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM) General Damages, of Governador Valadares (MG).
