Training focused on equipment for production of Cachaça de Alambique (brandy)

About 30 rural producers from the Agricultural Cooperation Association June 1st (ASCA) in Tumiritinga (MG) participated in the Cachaça de Alambique Production course. Organized by the Renova Foundation in partnership with the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Minas Gerais (Emater-MG), the free training took place on October 29 and 30.

One of the main activities of the settlement is the production of “Mineira do Leste” cachaça. The activity generates direct and indirect work and income to 65 families in the Tumiritinga region

In the course, the rural producers learned how to operate three machines obtained through the project call of the Renova Foundation and BrazilFoundation. This initiative aims to promote socioeconomic development and entrepreneurship through social organizations and microentrepreneurs in eastern Minas Gerais and Baixo Guandu (ES). With the resources of the RFP, machines to improve the production were acquired.

Marlene Martins, who is part of ASCA, drew attention to how the initiative will impact the work of the producers. “This course was very important. It enables us to properly operate these new machines and increase our production, open new markets and thus improve our income,” she said.

The Agricultural Cooperation Association is also receiving individual consultancy from Emater. Based on the consultancy, producers will be able to make adjustments in the facilities to meet the specific legislation for organic cachaça production.
