Chat session

Every month there will be chat sessions via YouTube to discuss issues related to the recovery works of the impacted areas and communities

A new space for communicating with society will be launched by the Renova Foundation: live chat sessions via YouTube. The objective is to continue the work of collective construction of solutions for the areas and communities affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam and to share information with the public, in a transparent way, on the progress of the repair, restoration and reconstruction actions.

Each month a different topic will be presented to the public by a professional of Renova or an expert market researcher. The first talk will be on the “Protection of Springs” and will be conducted by an environmental project specialist of the Renova Foundation, José Almir Jacomelli, on March 30 at 2 pm.

To date, 511 springs have been fenced and protected in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.

To date, 511 tributary springs of the Doce River Basin have been protected in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo through a partnership between the Renova Foundation and the Earth Institute. The participation of rural farmers was critical to the development of the actions. They received technical guidance and all material to fence the spring areas such as, stakes, wires and staples. In total, 215 farmers have registered and joined the project, understanding the importance of the initiative for the environment and also to maintain the properties productive.

Anyone can join the chat sessions in real time, sending questions, suggestions and opinions through the Renova Foundation channel on YouTube. Sign up to be notified and participate! The chat session will also be broadcasted and can be followed live on the Renova Foundation website.
