Public tender selects terrestrial biodiversity projects in the Doce river

Registration for the first public tender of the Doce River Biodiversity project is open

In compliance with the Action Plans for the Recovery and Conservation of Terrestrial and Aquatic Biodiversity, registration is open until July 3, 2023, for the first public tender  of the Doce River Biodiversity project. 

Carried out through a partnership between the Renova Foundation and the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (Funbio), the initiative will be divided into five public tender s and aims to promote scientific knowledge about the fauna and flora of the Doce River basin. 

In this first phase, at least 10 initiatives focused on the conservation of target species of terrestrial biodiversity in the Doce river basin will be selected, totaling an investment of R$9 million. 

Any non-profit scientific organization, such as foundations and associations, may apply.

The projects will be developed over two to three years and the list of target species will be presented in each of the public tender s. The complete information of this first notice is available for access here
