Micro and small businesses and startups from all over Brazil can receive up to R $ 400,000 to develop and implement their project

Innovation is one of the keywords for the repair process for the impacts generated by the collapse of the Fundao dam. The connection between entrepreneurship, technology and sustainability is essential in a scenario that constantly demands generation and application of new knowledge and techniques. For this reason, and in order to find creative solutions that might help deal with the socio-environmental disaster, the Renova Foundation launched the call Sustainability and Reconstruction, through the Public Notice for Innovation in the Industry, arranged by Sebrae and Senai.

The Public Notice for Innovation in the Industry will invest more than R$ 1 million in the development of projects that contribute to the repair actions along the River Doce.

More than R$ 1 million will be invested in the development of projects that contribute to the actions carried out along the Doce River. Micro and small businesses and startups from all over Brazil can register until January 29. Of the total amount foreseen in the notice, R$ 500 thousand will be disbursed by Renova and the rest of the amount will be divided between Senai and Sebrae.

The entire process, from the receipt of the projects to the final result, will be accompanied by Senai. The proposals will be evaluated by Renova, which will select four projects – two will receive R$ 400,000 each and two others, R $150,000 – that contribute to the challenges of the repair in the municipalities affected by the collapse of Fundao, according two thematic axes: Land and Water, People and Communities, besides Reconstruction and Infrastructure.

“We want micro and small businesses, with a sustainable technological foundation, to create products that help us in this commitment to repair, but also generate innovation and knowledge for the market, bringing new business opportunities to them,” says Paulo Rocha, of the Economy and Innovation front of the Renova Foundation.

The development of the projects will be accompanied by the Senai. In order to develop the selected projects, it will be possible to use the incubation structure of the Sesi/Senai system. The entrepreneurs can also count on counseling for introducing the new product to the market.
