The Renova Foundation has established yet another communication channel with the communities affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam. Three newspapers will be distributed bimonthly in the towns of Mariana and Barra Longa, in Minas Gerais, and the communities of the Doce River mouth, in Espirito Santo, and are made available on the website of Renova. The publication has the objective to share information of interest of the community with the affected families and intends to consolidate itself as a collectively produced communication channel.
Renova believes that its role in this endeavor is much more based on listening than speaking. Therefore, the newspaper will be constructed together with the population. To make this possible, two workshops will be held, one in August and another September, in which representatives of the institution and people from the affected communities will gather to collaborate in the production of this new communication channel.

In the first workshop, suggestions will be raised for the construction of the graphic and editorial projects of the newspaper and, in addition, the editorial group will be formed. This group will participate in all stages of the construction of the publication, from the drafting of the agenda to the approval for printing.
During the second workshop, the participants of the editorial group will set the guidelines, indicate personalities for the articles, and critically discuss the results and dynamics of the journal.
