CHARACTERISTICS OF SPECIES USED FOR SAMPLING

  • They are native resistant species and considered pioneer, since they are the first to grow on the location.
  • Some are fruit trees that help to attract the region’s fauna.
  • They feature a large treetop and make good shade, creating opportunity for the emergence of other species that compose the vegetation.

PRELIMINARY STAGES

  • To facilitate the cultivation of seedlings, a correction was made to the soil using agricultural machinery.
  • To evaluate the natural soil regeneration, some areas received nutrients and others not.
  • In certain places seedlings were planted and in others seeds.

GUIDED GROWTH

  • The development of the seedlings will be monitored for the next two years.
  • The work involves the control of invasive species (pests) and weeds (weeding).
  • Furthermore, there will be visual monitoring by professionals including biologists, agronomists and foresters.
