Vehicle delivery is part of the Technical and Financial Cooperation Agreement signed with municipal governments

The Renova Foundation signed a Technical and Financial Cooperation Agreement with Minas Gerais municipalities affected by the Fundao dam collapse in Mariana (MG). It establishes a series of investments in the area of Social Assistance. The partnership allows for the hiring of professionals and the acquisition of materials and equipment, in addition to promoting improvements in the transportation of deployed employees.

On Monday the 11th, the Municipality of Caratinga received a vehicle that will be used for social assistance in the municipality, through the Social Protection program of the Renova Foundation. The delivery is the result of the term signed in January. Besides Caratinga, other towns also received vehicles in the last few months to strengthen local social assistance services, namely: Bom Jesus do Galho, Conselheiro Pena, and Ipaba.

Delivery of the vehicle in Conselheiro Pena (before the Covid-19 pandemic): Jose de Paula, Social Worker; Izabelly França, analyst of the Social Protection and Health Program at the Renova Foundation and Andre Luiz Teixeira Farias, municipal secretary for Social Assistance and Sports.

“The objective is to support public authorities in the development of actions to assist families or individuals in situations of vulnerability that were impacted by the Fundao dam collapse. Other municipalities will also receive investments, according to the specificities of each location,” explains Izabelly França, analyst of Renova’s Social Protection and Health Program.

In Conselheiro Pena, the initiative seeks to strengthen the public social assistance policy of the municipality, supporting the activities of the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras) and the Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center (Creas).

“Conselheiro Pena is a very large municipality, of such complexity. This support will add a lot to the home-visit service we provide in the municipality. The town is proud to have been one of the first to sign the term with the Renova Foundation. It will make a difference for the population,” says the municipal secretary for Social Assistance and Sports, Andre Luiz Teixeira Farias.
