Initiative to promote culture is the result of a partnership between the Renova Foundation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Brazil

The cities of Santa Cruz do Escalvado, Rio Doce and Barra Longa, in Minas Gerais, receive, in July and August, editions of the Intermunicipal Heritage Meeting. The initiative, the result of a partnership between the Renova Foundation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Brazil, seeks to enhance professional training, raise awareness among participants and promote the cultural heritage of municipalities. During the events, communities will have access to lectures, workshops, conversation circles, soirées and exhibitions.

The entire Intermunicipal Heritage Meeting is designed with the support of the population itself, in particular, community leaders, cultural groups and civil society organizations and public bodies. In this way, the initiative meets local needs and has unique versions per municipality.
