INSTITUTES PROMOTE SOCIAL ACTIONS IN GOVERNADOR VALADARES

Projects approved in the Social Assistance RFP are receiving a total of R$ 1.1 million for the development of activities

The Nosso Lar Institute and the Brazil Social Equality Institute (Ibis) started activities with vulnerable families in the communities of Governador Valadares, in Minas Gerais. Approved in the Social Assistance RFP, from the Renova Foundation, together with the amounts, the institutions will receive a total of R$1.1 million for the development of projects.

At Nosso Lar Institute, children and teenagers participate in weekly ballet, contemporary and urban dance, physical activity and digital inclusion workshops. The proposal is that at the end of the year an exhibition of photography, literature and graffiti will be held, as well as a dance show.

The Brazil Social Equality Institute performs physical activities twice a week for people over 50 years old. Among the modalities are guided walks, gymnastics, stretching and dancing. The project also promotes social exchange actions, collective interaction, lectures, debates and conversation circles.

The Social Assistance RFP supports projects aimed at assisting families or individuals affected by the Fundao dam collapse who live in a situation of social vulnerability. The initiatives seek to strengthen the municipality’s social assistance network and encourage socialization and community living.
