GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DOCE RIVER BASIN WATER CIRCUIT, IN MARIANA, MINAS GERAIS

In celebration of World Environment Day, the Renova Foundation, together with the Municipality of Mariana, will be holding the Doce River Basin Water Circuit event – a special edition focused on environmental awareness.

This year, the main concept of the event will be “Four elements, one planet”, emphasizing the four elements that are essential for life in society: water, earth, fire and air.

The program takes place from 6/2 to 6/7 and will feature information booths, immersive and technological experiences, cultural presentations and exhibitions, making visitors follow a circuit that will address the importance and challenges of preserving each of the elements.

Friday – 6/2

Santa Rita Durão

Location: Matriz Square (open to the public).

  • 8h to 10h – Ecological Walk with students from the Sinhô Machado School, with picnic and lecture on biodiversity.
  • 10h to 15h – Circuit of the Water Basin of the Doce River – Mariana Edition, with interactive activities on the four elements of nature, cultural presentations, educational actions and Informative Space of Reparation – Renova Foundation.

 

Sunday 6/4

Mariana

Location: Gomes Freire Square

  • 10h to 12h – Waste management workshop; Simulation of forest fires with the Fire Brigade.
  • 10h to 13h – Demonstration of Mini Water Treatment Station with SAAE.
  • 10h to 15h – “Did you know” booth and Information Space Doce Alive Project – Renova Foundation.
  • 10h to 15h – Games with Clown Jojoba during the program.
  • 11h – Circo Volante Circus Presentation.
  • 11:30 – Lecture on selective collection with a Camar representative and on waste collection with Gari.
  • 13h to 15h – Waste management workshop.
  • 15h – Circo Volante Circus Presentation.

 

Monday 6/5

Mariana

  • 8h to 11h – Educational Blitz, with informative material – Location: In front of the Convention Center.
  • 8h and 13h – Gastronomy and composting workshops and seed planting activities with students from Cônego Paulo Diláscio School.

 

Tuesday 6/6

Mariana

  • 10h and 15h – Educational action to combat Dengue with students from the Wilson Pimenta Municipal School.

 

Wednesday 6/7

Mariana

  • 14:30 to 17:00 – Guided tour with Philosophy students, representatives of Camar and representatives of the Environmental Department to the Sanitary Landfill in the District of Camargos, with chat and lecture on conscious consumption and waste disposal for university students.
