The transfer intended for indemnities and Emergency Financial Aid (AFE) reached more than 389 thousand people, in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo
Until June of this year, the Renova Foundation had paid more than R$10 billion in indemnities and Emergency Financial Aid (AFE) to more than 389 thousand people in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. The advance is due to the implementation of the Simplified Indemnity System from a court decision, when compensation gained new momentum, with the payment of often informal categories. The largest disbursement made by the System was made in June of this year, with the payment of almost R$1 billion to those affected. Since it was implemented, R$7.09 billion has been paid to more than 66 thousand people through the System.
Simplified Indemnity System
Implemented in August 2020, the Simplified Indemnity System allows the indemnification of often informal categories, such as artisans, cart drivers, washerwomen, subsistence and informal fishermen, sand harvesters and others. The payment stream also compensates formal categories such as professional fishermen, boat owners and companies such as hotels, inns and restaurants.
PIM/AFE System
Currently, financial compensation for those who had proven damages and who meet the eligibility criteria of the Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM) and Emergency Financial Aid (AFE) occurs through the PIM /AFE System. The digital platform allows the management of claims for compensation, collection of documents necessary to prove damages and registration of the signature of the acceptance agreement, in case of eligibility.
