Meeting integrates the detailed engineering plan for the resettlements

The most sustainable and efficient ways to treat sewage and capture natural resources, such as water and energy, were addressed by experts in Mariana (MG) on May 4. One of the objectives of the meeting was to discuss the best options to be applied in the resettlement process of the communities affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam.

Participating in the event were professionals from the National Institute of Science and Technology in Sustainable Wastewater Treatment Plants (INCT) and representatives of the Bento Rodrigues community, the technical advisory body Caritas, the Autonomous Water Sanitation Service (SAAE) and local public authorities.

“This way we promote a dialogue between the impacted community and the academic community, which will help us in our research and finding solutions for the resettlement process”, says the sanitary engineer Guilherme Tavares.
