Event is part of the Renova Foundation Supplier Development Program

On November 18 and 20, about 100 local businesspeople from Mariana and Governador Valadares participated in the 2nd Series of Talks of the Renova Foundation Supplier Development Program. The initiative seeks the qualification of local companies and businesses.

Josiane da Rocha, Corporate Legal Manager at LF Solutions, addressed the topic “Economic and Financial Management in Practice”. She advised entrepreneurs on the financial perspectives of their companies, besides presenting variables for analysis and tools for improving their finances and practical applications.

Josiane spoke to us about the importance of the topic. “We explain how things work. Activities such as cash flow, inventory control, equipment management, customer and supplier registration, among others. A lot of people are not aware of these things, but they are essential for companies,” she said.

One of the participating businesspeople, Igor Bretas de Alvarenga from Governador Valadares, saw the 2nd Series of Talks as an opportunity to modernize. “Our dream within the company is to better manage resources. This is an opportunity to put these improvements into practice in our offices and modernize, which is always important,” he said.

Staying up to date in the river mouth region

Mariana and Governador Valadares are part of the 2nd Series of Talks of the program. The proposal is to train and prepare local suppliers for business opportunities and job creation in the municipalities impacted by the Fundao dam collapse.

In addition to the activities in both towns in Minas Gerais, in November the program was also launched in Espirito Santo. Entrepreneurs from Colatina, Linhares, and the communities of Regencia and Povoacao participated in the first talk of the program in the region, which discussed the topic “Motivating Companies and People for Business Generation”. The entrepreneurs were also able to learn about how the program works and to ask questions.

“The action regards the training and qualification of local entrepreneurs, making them more competitive and prepared for the market. The Series features a program schedule that allows entrepreneurs to acquire new knowledge and improve the management of their business,” explains Simone Pimentel, Renova Foundation Supply Chain coordinator.

Some talks are planned for End 2019. Keep an eye on the Foundation’s communication channels to get informed about upcoming dates.
