Rainy Season

The initiative is part of the Action Plan for the Rainy Season developed by the Renova Foundation

The water pipeline of the Pancas River, located in the area north of Colatina (ES), is ready for operation. The official inauguration of the installation took place on Wednesday morning (02/01), with the visit of representatives of public authorities and the Renova Foundation.

With a flow capacity of approximately 570,000 liters (150,580 gallons) of water per hour, the structure will supply water to about 80,000 people. The initiative is part of the Action Plan for the Rainy Season developed by Renova in collaboration with public authorities and Civil Defense.

The installation prevents water shortage in case of any impediment to the water withdrawal from the Doce River. Together with the Santa Maria water pipeline in the southern region of the municipality, delivered by the Renova Foundation in October 2016, with a capacity of 280,000 liters (74,000 gallons) per hour, both are prepared to meet more than 50% of the water consumption of the town of Colatina.

ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS

The roads that give access to the Pancas River pipeline were renovated, benefiting the locals. The passage, which was a dirt road, was paved with concrete paving stones, the curb got new paint and a guardrail was installed at the end of the street, turning the area into a public place with benches, trash bins and a panoramic view. Streetlights were replaced, making it a safer place for the people.
